Your One-Stop Job Search App

Search for your ideal job?

Want to know about any new vacancies even when you are not at a desk?

In these troubled times it is good to get your job application in early.

JobFinder is FREE and will allow you to search for any job, in any industry quickly and easily from your iPhone or iPod touch.

Usage:

Here are some tips to help you get the best out of JobFinder
(N.B. this is for functionality in v1.1 onwards);

When JobFinder is selected it opens onto the Search screen. A flag representing the country selected will appear behind the JobFinder magnifying glass. Selection of an alternative country will change the flag displayed.

On the
Search screen Multiple Key Words can be entered, separated by logical expressions if necessary, e.g. 'project manager' AND Construction OR PMO.
The entries are not case sensitive.

When you quit the application this information will still be there to allow you to search for your jobs on a regular basis with minimum typing.

Location can be a region, a place, or a post code. Selecting the icon, (version 1.2 onwards only), will add your current location.

Selection of the
Type will filter the results of the search according to your needs.

Once the results of the search are available the number of results will be displayed against the Jobs tab. You will be taken to this screen automatically. The results are stored offline to enable you to view them at any time.

The Settings tab gives many options to help tailor the results to suit you;

The distance from the location can be set. Just drag the button to increase/decrease the number of miles from the given location that should be included in any search.

The Industry can also be selected to help further tailor your results. Just scroll down the list to locate the one most suitable for you. Note this will result in only vacancies that support that industry to be searched through to meet your other requirements.

Restrict your results further by selecting the number of days vacancies have been advertised over. For example sliding the button to the left most position will result in only jobs advertised in the last two hours being displayed and to the right most position will result in all jobs, that match the search criteria, advertised in the last 7 days being displayed.

Now that the number of possible results displayed has been expanded we have added the results per feed to restrict how many you wish to see from each feed to ensure you don't have to wade through swathes of vacancies.

Within the
Jobs tab there are the following options.

- Add To Favorites button. This will remove the vacancy from the results list and include it in the Favorites list. The favorites can be added to from multiple searches and are again stored offline to enable you to view them at any time.

- Email Job button. This will open an email template to enable you to send a link to the vacancy to any address. The email template is the standard iPhone functionality therefore selecting the To: section will allow you to add recipients from your contacts list. The other fields such as Subject and the message content can be changed to match whatever message you require.

Tapping any of the vacancies listed in Jobs or Favorites will give the job details, with a scrollable description and a website link. Selection of the link doesn't leave the App so you can return to the Job Details, and thus the jobs results listing or favorites, when you like.

The
Add To Favorites button is duplicated again within the job details, (providing you are not already in favourites), as is the Email Job button.

The
Edit button on the top menu bar allows you to delete jobs from the Jobs listing or from Favorites. Additionally within Favorites there is a Delete All button.

- Pinpoint button. (Version 1.2 onwards only). Will be available on those vacancies that provide the relevant location information. This button will open a map and pinpoint the location of the job on the map. The map is standard iPhone functionality and can be zoomed in and out in the normal manner.

A further
Nearby Jobs button will appear in the top menu bar. Selecting this will show any jobs in the vicinity from your listing. If you selected the pinpoint icon from a favorites vacancy listing it will show other jobs nearby from your favorites listing. If you selected the pinpoint icon from the jobs listing it will show all jobs nearby from that list.
